For the Hollywood Theatre's 93rd birthday, Hollywood Babylon presents a 35mm print of this 1933 pre-Code classic! This screening is FREE for Hollywood Theatre members.Special 30 min pre-show featuring Hollywood organist Dean Lemire on our mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ!(1933) Carol (Joan Blondell) and her fellow showgirls (Ginger Rogers, Aline MacMahon, Ruby Keeler), are down to their last pair of stockings after the Great Depression kicks in and all of the Broadway shows close down. Wealthy songwriter Brad (Dick Powell) saves the day by funding a new scantily-clad musical for them to perform. When Brad's brother tries to shut it down, Carol and her gold-digging friends scheme to keep the show going, snagging a couple of millionaires along the way. Featuring phenomenal dance sequences choreographed by Busby Berkeley!Guest passes and member guest passes accepted.
